Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,

My name is Emma Dornburg, it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I get to become a member of the Fontana Elementary School Community! I’m truly honored to be a part of the 6th grade team and look forward to positively impacting every student’s performance and school experience.

I’m originally from Port Washington, WI; a small town near Milwaukee. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in education. After graduation I spent a year in the West Bend School District as a math interventionist and then decide to move to Arizona. I spent two years in Arizona teaching 8th grade math. I enjoyed every minute of it, especially the weather. Although it was a great experience, I decided to move back to Wisconsin to be closer to my family.

Another passion in my life besides teaching is playing volleyball. I have played and coached volleyball the last 12 years. I love both indoor and sand volleyball and try my best to part of a team where ever I go. I also love going to our family cabin. We have a house located on the Embarrass River just outside of Shawano, WI. I love getting out on the water with family and friends and making long-lasting memories.

This year I hope to inspire, challenge, and guide my students in their lifelong learning journey. I will provide a comfortable environment for students to take risks, encourage each other, and push themselves to their fullest potential; all while having fun! I look forward to meeting everyone and please feel free to stop by the classroom anytime or contact me anytime. I know this year will be a great one!!

 Ms. Smith

My name is Jessica Smith and I am one of the new teachers in 6th grade. I will be teaching Language Arts and Science. I am excited to start the year. Teaching is something I always knew I wanted to do. When I was a teen I taught dance (tap, ballet, jazz) to ages ranging from 3-14 years old. After high school, I continued teaching dance in college. I graduated in 2010 from UW-Whitewater with my teaching degree.

I have 4 years of teaching experience coming into Fontana. I worked for a Title 1 company, Catapult Learning, for a year. With this company I did small group pull out in Math and Reading. From there, I was hired at St. Anthony of Milwaukee. In my 3 years at SAS I worked with grades 6-8. I also taught a lot of different subjects including, Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Catechism.

I live in the Mukwonago area with my husband and daughter. I love spending my free time with them. Payson is my daughter and she is a year and a half right now. I have been married for almost 3 years.
