Science Fair

The eagerly anticipated 2017-2018 science fair will take place on Thursday, February 22nd between 5:00 and 7:00.  Participants will drop projects off at the school on February 21st.  There is a link to the log books provided below and printed versions are available in Mrs. Rabe's classroom. Please see the information packet or ask Mrs. Rabe, Mrs. Lamsam, or Mrs. Dornburg if you have any questions.

This year's science fair has some very exciting features.  We will have all of the student projects on display with their ribbons as well as interactive Robotics Club and Outdoor Education booths.  There will also be hands-on experiments set up by the UW Whitewater chemistry department.  The evening will conclude with a explosive science show in the gymnasium.  You won't want to miss it!

Again this year, all blue ribbon award winners will be eligible to compete in the Big Foot Area Schools Association Science Fair which will be held at the Abbey Resort in the Spring of 2018.  More information will be available to qualifying students.

Will will also be featuring the "Best of Show" award for the highest scoring project in each division at the Fontana Science Fair.

Parents, when you are trying to help your child with his or her science fair project, figuring out how to sufficiently but not overly support can be a challenge.  Check out this article from the Wall Street Journal by Sue Shellenbarger to shed some light on this topic.

Have fun experimenting and good luck to all participants!
