Hello parents, I hope everyone enjoyed their extended holiday weekend. As a reminder we have a few adjustments at drop off and pick up that will start tomorrow. 1. Arrival will be for all families between 8am and 8:20a. All students (except daycare 3k and younger) will enter through the main entrance to help with traffic flow and movement to the proper class. (daycare will still enter/leave at the South end of the building as usual). 2. Dismissal for ALL car riders will be 3:20pm. Please adhere to pulling up as far as possible to fill in open spots in the pick up line. All older siblings will move to the South end of the building to meet up with younger siblings. All bus riders will stay with teachers and leave at 3:30p to board the bus. 3. Students will be sent home with an order form on Tuesday September 9th for Fontana neck buffs and face masks. We have a limited supply, but we will do our best to fulfill all requests. Thank you for your interest and all funds collected will go directly back toward student needs. We look forward to week 2 of the new school year. See you all tomorrow! #FlyIntoExcellence

Hello parents, We are heading into our last 7 days of school. I would like to share some updates with everyone. As always, please call our office or email with any questions. 1. A general checklist for turning things in this week includes: chromebook, chargers, library books, clocks, hotspots other classroom materials given by teachers. 2. Your classroom teachers will be sharing a more specific list. If you would like to keep your school issued wifi hotspot for the summer please email storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us to set up a plan. 3. Please communicate any needs or adjustments and we are more than willing to work with you on any concerns related to turning things in. 4. Our last day of the food/lunch program will be Friday May 29th. If you would like to continue with the summer lunch program you can go to Walworth School through July to participate in their lunch program. All are welcome. 5. We will not assign any new work this last week. This is a time to catch up on anything missing and to make sure you have everything completed and closed out. This will also be a time to connect with your teachers for any last minute needs and/or questions. Please do not worry about our attendance link this last week. 6. Grades will be available for fourth quarter on June 3rd through Infinite Campus. Please email ithelp@fontana.k12.wi.us with any questions regarding access to Infinite Campus for report cards/grades. 6. We will have our Virtual Field Days on Monday June 1st and Tuesday June 2nd. Mr. Schultz has sent out information and games. For those interested, we will be sending staff around to take photos and share in the experience (from a socially safe distance of course). Please notify our office or Mr. Schultz if you are interested. 7. We will be having an end-of-year parade on Wednesday June 3rd from 2-3p. We will have staff lined up from our school and down the sidewalk toward Blue Heaven Ice Cream. Please drive through and let our staff send off this school year in style. Popsicles will be handed out to keep with our traditions!! We hope to see you all there. 8. 8th grade promotion ceremony will be July 24th at 7pm in hopes of having a small, in person, ceremony. Please note, this date is the final date whether in person or virtual. 9. We are currently working on summer school plans. We hope to offer an "in-person" option in July (more information will be shared as we get into early June). 10. Please know we have a task force specifically for 20/21 planning and we will be surveying staff, parents, and students this coming week to gain more feedback in our planning. Be on the look out for this survey and please share you thoughts. 11. Please contact our office with anything as we are always available and ready to support our families/students. While we are very proud of our school community pulling together for a successful 4th quarter, we also realize there are areas for improvement, and we will be working throughout the summer to ensure every student continues to get a high quality education in the 20/21 school year. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! Stay safe and be well!! Your Fontana Family!

Thanks to Jeff Magnus at Aquatic Specialty for donating a 55 gallon tank and stand. Many staff, students, and parents have donated time and money to his move. Dear Families, Governor Tony Evers has issued a statewide closure of all schools in Wisconsin. We will close after school on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and tentatively reopen on April 6, 2020. The closure will include cancellation of all school related activities and childcare. Teachers will be sending information for virtual learning, and some may send paper work as well. The Department of Public Instruction is working on guidance for schools, and it remains unclear if there will be any lost instructional days forgiven by the state. More information will be made available as soon as updates are received. Please call our office or contact administration with any questions/concerns. Respectfully, Mark Wenzel, Administrator mwenzel@fontana.k12.wi.us Steve Torrez, Principal storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us

What's New with Fuel Up to Play 60 Our team has been hard at work thinking of different ways for our students to be active and healthy in and out of school. This week we are kicking off our Take Home Gym. Any family can sign out our take home gym for a night for a way to beat the winter blues and be active at home. The Take Home Gym has 15 pieces of our favorite PE equipment. Families can check out the Take Home Gym there is a sign-out sheet posted in the gym, on the bulletin board. Remember, you must return the Take Home Gym the following day so another family can enjoy all the fun. Our club members also hosted a dairy taste test before the holiday break. Our club members made three different types of "milksicles" which included strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla. The students loved their healthy treat. Our club is challenging you to come up with a dairy snack you can make at home with the kids. Think of a fun recipe to try with them and send it our way! We might even try it for our next taste test. Lastly, for the last two months, our school has been participating in the "MOOving through Wisconsin" contest. Our club has challenged the students and staff to reach 1,000 miles by Feb 1, 2019. Currently, the teachers are in the lead with 709 miles, followed by Mr. Scott (yes he did all of this alone!), with 658 miles, and in 3rd place 4th grade with 466 miles. There are still a few weeks left of this contest; the log sheets can are on the bulletin board in the gym. There are some great hiking trails around the area go out with your kids and explore the paths, don't forget to log those miles. The Take Home Gym also has two fitness trackers in it that you can use for the night! Thank you for supporting our Fuel Up to Play 60 program, and we hope you enjoy these opportunities!

Districts, students, and parents are reporting an issue with the new Campus Student and Campus Parent apps. Upon opening their app, some students and parents are seeing a blank white screen or a white screen showing a “Connection Error” message. Initial investigation points to intermittent connectivity issues when the system authenticates the user’s credentials. At no time is any data at risk of being compromised. We appreciate your patience as we further investigate to resolve this issue. Until this issue is resolved, students and parents experiencing this issue may access Campus Student or Campus Parent on their mobile device by using a web browser. If your district desires to review updates, please refer to Campus Community. Students and parents desiring to review updates may see them at our public page for students and parents. Pick-up was 4 minutes faster today--even with the rain! Folks are coming early, though. We had 30 cars in line by 3:20, and the line backed up from there. With so many people coming early, the line gets long, and the wait must seem even longer. We dismiss students at 3:30, and it takes several minutes for them to get out of the building and to their spots. Please remember that our preschool students are dismissed at 3:15 and do not pull into the fire lane until all of our little ones are picked up. Those cars must be able to pull up to the front of the building. Thanks to those of you who pulled forward at drop off this morning! It was smooth and quickly done!

Hello, Falcons! Even with the rain and late student dismissal, the pick up process took just over 8 minutes from the first to final student! A couple tweaks to keep the lines moving: during drop off, please unload on the south side of the cross walk so that we can keep the line moving. Feel free to pull forward so that more cars can fit in the circle. On our end, we'll work on dismissing students on time! Thanks for your patience as we all learn and grow!
