Hello Falcons!!

Week 35 means one thing, and that is we have three more weeks of the 22/23 school year.  We celebrated this entire week with our Staff Appreciation activities.  Our PTSO and parent volunteers were here every day helping celebrate our fabulous staff at Fontana!!  THANK YOU!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Our Falcon Early Childhood Center is looking for a part-time teacher/assistant starting this June.  This would be for 20-30 hours/week with flexible schedule opportunities.  Please contact Devin Dennis (ddennis@fontana.k12.wi.us) or Steve Torrez (storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us) with any questions or for more information.
  2. Middle School Parents--Did you know Big Foot offers a exercise and workout program each summer?  It is called CASS (Chiefs, Agility, Strength and Speed).  This is available to all incoming 6-8th grade students along with incoming high school students.  Flier with more information HERE.  You can register online at Big Foot Recreation or you can contact Mrs. Peiffer for more information.
  3. Thank you to all of our staff at Fontana for the incredible work you do each day.  Our staff go above and beyond for every student here to provide individualized support and we are thankful for their commitment to our entire school community.  Happy Staff Appreciation Week!!
  4. Our middle schoolers get to enjoy the final school dance of the year this Friday, the 12th.  This dance takes place in the gym for our 6-8th graders and provides a great social environment for our students to enjoy some music and fun.  Our parents and PTSO have been wonderful in supporting our staff in this final dance off!!
  5. Our 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th grade students all had field trips this week to extend learning outside the classroom.  We experienced art, farms, zoos, UW-Madison along with other great social experiences with peers.
  6. BONUS--This coming week we will have our final "benchmark testing" for the year.  This includes MAP (Measurement of Academic Progress), IReady, and Aimsweb depending on the grade and subject.  We use spring benchmark data to support growth targets, differentiate our instruction, and ensure differentiated learning to start the 23/24 school year for every student.  Thank you for being prepared and on-time this coming week.  It makes a difference.

Have a great weekend Falcons!!
