School update

Hello Falcons!!

Week 36 is one that would likely need more than just FIVE updates!! We were busy finishing the school year strong while mixing in fun, field trips, and our 2nd Annual Walk for Wellness.  Whew what a week.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. All students finished up our Spring edition of benchmark testing.  Benchmark testing happens 3 times/year and shows student learning/growth.  Our staff uses this information to ensure every student receives individualized instruction at their level!
  2. Our kindergarten students had their annual field trip to Spring Meadows.  It's a great day with our students and parents outdoors exploring.  Our 4k also explored the fire station this week and got to meet our local Fontana Fire Department crew!  Thank you for keeping us safe FFD!
  3. We had over 100 participants in our 2nd Annual Falcons Walk for Wellness today!  Our goal was to raise $2500 for mental health provider Bigger Than the Trail and we are happy to report, because of our amazing community we hit our mark of $2500 today!  Thank you.
  4. The annual "Cops and Bobbers" fishing experience with the Fontana PD will take place Tuesday, May 23rd from 4-6pm at the Fontana Municipal Pier.  All materials supplied, just come and enjoy some fishing in our beautiful Lake!
  5. This week we celebrated "Hope Week".  Our school has successfully started Hope Squad this year, which is a peer to peer program led by our staff to ensure everyone has a voice, everyone is heard, and everyone gets the support they need !  What a successful program coordinated by Mrs. C, Mrs. Sammons, and Ms. Fuentes.  Thank you to all of our staff and students for supporting such a great program of Hope for all!!
  6. BONUS--Our 4-8th grade choir and band students did an amazing job performing Thursday night for the Spring concert!!  What a great performance that was closed out with "high school survival kits" for each 8th grader as they move onto high school in a few weeks!!  Way to go Falcons.

So much learning, trips, and extended activities in the final weeks of school. We look forward to making each day memorable and fun.  Remember, those attending the Kalahari Band/Music trip it will take place 5/25 and 5/26 in the Dells.  Have a great weekend.
