Hello Falcons!
Week 3 of summer break was as busy as a great as the last two. Our summer reading and math challenge expanded to include a magician in partnership with the Fontana Public Library. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Our "Summer of Continuous Excellence" is growing with excitement, challenge and student/family participation. You can come any of the Tuesday's so don't miss out. This is for any members of the community who want to challenge themselves to read 50 minutes and complete 50 minutes of math each week. Many of the students are coming and doing the 50 minutes right at school, which is amazing to see, however, you can complete and record your 50 minutes anywhere. Next Tuesday, June 27th, from 10-12p we will have a musician Little Miss Ann along with prizes, activities, and fun! See you there!! Summer at Fontana info HERE.
- The glass making class continues on Thursday's from 4-6pm at the Fontana Elementary art room. Jason Mack, of Mack Glass, and others are showing participants how to create their own glass creations. Such a fun and unique experience that is still available if interested. Contact Rob Elliott at RobertTElliott1@gmail.com for more information.
- We are excited to have our flooring project finished this week in the band and music rooms. In the last few months we have been able to upgrade the acoustics and flooring to support our growing music department.
- We have an awesome summer school Boot Camp scheduled to provide support, extension, and opportunity for all Falcons before the 23/24 school year starts. This two week session will include math/reading instruction along with fun extension activities. To put your child(rens) name on the interest list click HERE. By filling out the form you are not obligated to all session dates, however, we need a good idea of numbers and interest to best support our staffing needs. This is for all students at Fontana and work will be individualized to each student.
- Wisconsin offers an alternate open enrollment period for those families that may have missed the regular open enrollment period. This alternate OE period begins July 1st. For more information click the provided link. At Fontana, Mrs. Wendy Schanau is our open enrollment specialist. Our registration period at Fontana will also begin July 10th.
