School update

Hello Falcons!

Week 7 of summer was the completion of our "Summer of Continuous Excellence" where we partnered with the Fontana Public Library to offer a community reading, math, and fun program each Tuesday.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Thank you to Ryan at Lake Life for trusting and working with our students and STEM lab to produce some great products.  Pictured are a few of our students that have been creating and designing coasters to be distributed by Ryan and his Lake Life Brand.  Such a cool experience and we continue to build partnerships for our students to capture real world experiences.  Be on the lookout at Gordy's Pro Shop for Fontana Lab creations!!
  2. It was a great June/July having students attend our "Summer of Continuous Excellence" to participate in fun activities, reading, and math.  We had a great group of student committed to 50 minutes of reading and 50 minutes of math each week!  We can't wait to see the progress this fall with everyone's hard work over the summer.
  3. We are still taking names for our summer boot camp from July 31st through August 11th from 9a-12p each day.  We have about 20 students registered so far.  This is at no cost to families and math, reading, and fun extension activities will be led by our very own Fabulous Falcon staff!  Don't miss out on a great chance to kick off the school year with a little boot camp here at Fontana!  SIGN UP HERE if you haven't already done so.
  4. Registration has been picking up speed, but we still have a good number of students not registered.  Timely registration is so advantageous to our school to help us plan, assign staff, and ensure our supplies are allocated to the proper classrooms.  Please reach out to Mrs. Ziganto (sziganto@fontana.k12.wi.us) or Mrs. Long (clong@fontana.k12.wi.us) for any help.  We will make sure your registration process is painless and positive!  You can also pay your fees online once registered, including purchasing a yearbook for next year.  LINK HERE to registration page on our website.
  5. Safety is a priority for our school and we have been working hard on safety measures this summer.  We have finished installing 4k digital cameras with facial recognition and license plate recognition technology.  We have also updated our entrances to include keyless digital fobs linked to our cameras and facial recognition safety features.  We are thankful for our school community and the support to have a safe and rigorous learning environment for all students and staff.

Have a great weekend Falcons!
