School update

Hello Falcons!!

Three weeks of school and we are well on our way for 23/24.  Our flag football and cross country teams continue to work hard and compete at a high level.  We have some of our after school clubs starting  and we are full speed ahead with academics.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Our girls volleyball team practices start this coming Monday, September 25, right after school.  Additionally, our cross country and flag football teams are still competing at the same time.  Your coaches are Mr. Hoey and Mr. Smith for volleyball, Mrs. Blackman for cross country and Mr. Schultz and Mr. Coombs for flag football for any questions or information.
  2. Spirit week starts this Monday with a fan favorite Pajama Day!!  If you are wondering where to find information about spirit week and other events you can visit our website HERE and there are many updates, news, notes, and calendars.
  3. We are excited to again take a short field trip to the homecoming parade on Friday, September 29th.  Our band is expected to march in the parade and they will all bus together about 1:30p to prepare and then march.  All other students will have the option to pick up before 1p if they want to attend the parade and leave with parents.  All students not picked up by 1p on Friday will ride the bus with staff for a short field trip to watch and then return to school for the remainder of the day, including dismissal.  Students will NOT be allowed to leave from the parade with parents if they came with staff to the parade for safety purposes.  Permission slips with more information will go home this Monday, but the form is also attached HERE for reference.
  4. Our film club started (pictured) and students are creating a feature film that will result in an exclusive showing at our school!  Thank you Mr. McCanna for planning and starting a new/fun after school program for our students!
  5. Robotics club started this week.  We have well over 40 participants and the group continues to grow each year.  Thank you Mrs. Rabe and Mrs. Gutierrez for your planning and time after school to provide an awesome opportunity for our students with STEM and creativity.

Have a great weekend Falcons and see you all Monday for Homecoming week!
