Hello Falcons!!
We were excited to welcome everyone back after winter break this week. Our 17th week, while only three school days, was packed with many stories, learning, and reconnection. Happy 2024 Falcons! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Thank you to Mr. Boland and the Big Foot high school art department for hosting some of our 7th/8th grade art students for a visit this past week. Students were able to see the great programs offered such as clay, photography, and design.
- This Wednesday, January 10th, Big Foot guidance staff will be at Fontana to meet with our 8th graders about scheduling, course offerings for high school, and beginning high school preparation.
- At Fontana, we use the college and career readiness program, Xello, from grades 3-8th. Part of our program includes parent visits regarding careers and skills needed for different careers. This digital career portfolio is also used at Big Foot high school and allows students to grow and evolve in their career exploration, while identifying strengths and areas of interest.
- Our girls basketball season starts this Monday, January 8th, with our first practice after school. Girls basketball is for 6-8th grade girls and Mr. Hoey and Mrs. Rabe will be our coaches this season!
- Congratulations to all of the students who auditioned and took time to prepare for our spring musical, Willy Wonka. We can't wait to prepare and showcase all of the great acting talent again this year!!
