Update

Hello Falcons!!

Week 5 of summer break is complete.  We celebrated our Independence Day, which always reminds us of the great freedoms we are afforded.  I hope our Falcon Family was able to appreciate and enjoy the holiday weekend.  Here are FIVE things to know this week.

  1. Our online registration begins Monday, July 12th.  There will be many links, reminders, and support for this process.  Please remember, your access to register will begin with a parent portal in our Infinite Campus program.  Whether you are new to Fontana or returning, there will be specific links for you.  Our office staff are always here to help and support this process as well.
  2. We were excited to begin our band and choir lessons this summer.  We have many students taking advantage of this opportunity for individual lessons and expanding their music abilities.
  3. Our Early Childhood Center is looking for some daycare assistance/teachers.  If you have experience, or if you are interested in working with our 3k and younger team please contact Devin Dennis, our director, for more information.  She can be reached at ddennis@fontana.k12.wi.us.  We have a great team and expanding program with wonderful families.
  4. We are excited to start year two of our social/emotional curriculum, Second Step, which focuses on decision making, problem solving, and skills needed to work on a team.  This K-8 program is great as it transitions from making friends and kindness to empathy and emotional regulation.  Our social worker, Ms. Christensen, is a key support, however, Second Step is a building wide program for all!
  5. The window for alternate open enrollment is active as of July 1st.  If you have any questions or need support, Wendy Schanau is our open enrollment specialist.  She can help answer any questions and/or support this process for anyone interested.  Her email is wschanau@fontana.k12.wi.us

Have a great weekend Falcons, stay safe, and be well!  Please know that our school/health teams, including our board of education, continue to work diligently on planning for next school year.  This includes our COVID measures, scheduling, and plans for our sports to return.  Please contact our office or principal, Steve Torrez, directly at storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us
