OUTDOOR EDUCATION
EVERY STUDENT. EVERY DAY. WHATEVER IT TAKES.

ABOUT OUTDOOR EDUCATION:
Each year, 6th-grade students at Fontana Elementary embark on an unforgettable, year-long journey centered around nature and the outdoors. This exploration culminates in a week-long Outdoor Education camp, a highlight of the Fontana experience.
More than just a field trip, Outdoor Education is a powerful learning experience. Our goal is to give every student the chance to connect with the natural world, build lasting memories, and develop a deep respect for the environment. Through hands-on activities, team-building, and time spent exploring forests, lakes, and trails, students gain a greater appreciation for the land around them, and their role in caring for it.
The week at camp also offers meaningful opportunities for personal growth. Students learn how to work together, build independence, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had. For many, it’s the most memorable and impactful week of their elementary years.
Outdoor Education has been a proud tradition at Fontana since 1960. For over 65 years, with the support of our dedicated staff and community, this experience has helped shape generations of students. We are proud to carry this legacy forward, nurturing curiosity, confidence, and stewardship in every student who joins us on this adventure!
