OE

Hello Falcons!

We have so many engaging and fun activities taking place each week to keep everyone learning, active, and connected. As the weather turns to spring and summer the lake, school, and community also become unthawed from the cold of winter. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Our 64 edition of Outdoor Education begins this Monday! Our 6th graders will spend the entire week, with no electronics, learning about our natural resources and local environment. Conference Point and Lake Geneva Youth Camp host our students in addition to many field trips. If you ask any Fontana alumni you will always hear about their memorable OE experience!! Have fun Falcons.

  2. This past Monday, April 22nd was Earth Day. We also brought the community together to celebrate the Re-dedication of the Roeker Arboretum. Mr. Roeker was the founder of OE and Mrs. Sammons provided a great history of the overnight, week long camp that takes place each year. The Arboretum has been restored and the original Roeker Arboretum sign has been restored and placed for all to see for 64 more years and beyond.

  3. Thank you to Sgt. Goetsch and the Fontana Police Department for their support in completing the annual Wise Choices program. Our 6th grade students learn about the dangers of alcohol/drugs, internet safety, and anti-bullying lessons. We are thankful for the great support of the Fontana PD and Fire/Rescue.

  4. Our annual Walk for Wellness is quickly approaching. Please join us on our walk, raising money, and increasing awareness regarding mental health. LINK HERE to sign up for the walk and/or to donate to Bigger Than the Trail!!

  5. The Open Enrollment period in Wisconsin is open now through April 30th. If you are interested in Fontana, looking to learn more about our school, or wanting to schedule a tour please reach out to Mrs. Schanau (wschanau@fontana.k12.wi.us) our open enrollment specialist. If you already attend Fontana you do not have to complete open enrollment paperwork again for the upcoming school year.

  6. BONUS--We are excited to once again participate in Forensics this weekend for the first time in many years! We have a good group of students attending the performance at Big Foot on Saturday, April 27th. Forensics meet is from 9 to 11:30 at Big Foot High School. Contestants will need to arrive at 8:30.

  7. BONUS 2--Catch the Fontana Summer Scoop BELOW. We are planning fun, engaging, and educational programs for the entire summer. All students were sent home with summer school interest forms. Please return those to your child's teacher so we can properly plan and staff our summer.

Have a great weekend Falcons and see you all Monday!
