School update

Hello Falcons!

One of the great benefits at Fontana is being a 4K-8 district where we get to watch many of our students learn and grow into young adults.  Pictured is our recent 8th grade graduates who will be starting their high school careers very soon.  Your Falcon family wishes you well and #onceafalconalwaysafalcon.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. We had a great first week of registration.  Don't forget, for all new and returning students there is a tab to complete for the 23/24 school year.  HERE is the link to get registered.  We know it is summer, but the sooner we get all of our students registered, the better we can prepare each classroom with staff, supplies and support.  Mrs. Ziganto (sziganto@fontana.k12.wi.us) and Mrs. Long (clong@fontana.k12.wi.us) are your registration support system!
  2. Thank you to everyone who attended our first every community glass blowing class with Jason Mack and Mack Glass.   Fun was had by all and we look forward to continuing to offer unique classes for our community in the future.
  3. Thank you to everyone who has filled in their registration/interest for summer school.  We have about 15 signed up so far.  Please complete the form if you still have interest in attending our summer school that will run from July 31st through August 11th at Fontana.  This summer boot camp will include math, reading, and extension/fun activities from 9-12p each day.  If you haven't already, please complete the form HERE to get signed up for summer school.
  4. Our last class for the Summer of Continuous Excellence will be this Tuesday from 10-12p.  Please note the change of location this Tuesday, July 18th will be at Reid Park behind Gordy's by the playground area.  We will have treats and fun games for kids to enjoy on our last day.  There will also be hotdogs on the grill and chips for everyone to enjoy.  Come on down to Reid park and get some free books, log your reading hours, celebrate with friends, and enjoy the Fontana lake area.
  5. Don't forget, the alternate open enrollment period is now open, as of July 1st.  This is available to any non-resident family that missed the original open enrollment deadline in April.  Pending open seats, the alternate open enrollment process can allow families flexibility in their school of choice.  Mrs. Wendy Schanau (wschanau@fontana.k12.wi.us) is our open enrollment specialist if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend Falcons!
