School update

Hello Falcons!!

Week 12 of summer is our official last week as a Falcon staff before our training and inservice starts on August 28th.  Anticipation, excitement, and smiles are expected as we prepare to welcome all of our Falcons back for the 23/24 school year.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. (Pictured) We are so thankful to partner with another local business that supports our students creativity and STEM skills.  This summer some middle school students helped Mrs. Gutierrez make key chains for Gordy's Pro Shop.  It is amazing to watch the students progress through the engineering process to test the products they design.  Thank you Gordy's for believing and supporting our school!
  2. Dates to know--4k and any new 5k student open house on August 29th from 5-6p.  5k-8th grade open house on August 31st from 5-6:30p.  Bring your school supplies and meet the Fontana staff!  First day of school is Tuesday, September 5th.
  3. Fall Sports Schedules--FLAG FOOTBALL SCHEDULE, CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE, VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE.  Cross Country practice starts Monday, August 28th at 9a and flag football will start the first week of school.
  4. As a reminder, you are able to pay all of your school fees online through your registration/Infinite Campus parent portal.  Additionally, Mrs. Schanau and staff will be at our open our house on Thursday, August 31st, if you prefer to pay in person.  The fee options will also include paying for your students yearbook.
  5. On Sunday, October 8th, our PTSO will once again host our annual Falcon Golf Outing at Country Club Estates Golf Course.  More details to come, but save the date for this fun afternoon golfing, eating, and enjoying time on the course with fellow Falcons!  Our PTSO have also set up a Back to School event at Meggy Moo's on August 31st after our open house.  A portion of sales will be donated back to our PTSO for field trips, school assemblies, and other class trips.  Lastly, be sure to take a look at our updated Roeker Arboretum in the center of school.  We partnered with our PTSO and Harvard Nursery to update and beautify our amazing outdoor learning space.
  6. BONUS--We are excited to offer a community wide opportunity for anyone interested in wellness, exercise, or nutrition.  Our staff have worked with Thrive Wellness Coaching and Consulting this past year and we are excited to extend this great opportunity to our entire community.  More details HERE. Don't miss our first community wide exercise class starting September 18th at 4pm.

Have a great weekend Falcons and enjoy the great cool down from a hot week!
