Hello Falcons!!
Week 11 was quite busy as we kicked off our boys basketball season in addition to our second annual Falcon Talent Show. Additionally, mother nature gifted us with another fantastic week of weather in mid-November!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- We had 16 performances and nearly 30 student participants in our 2nd annual talent show. What a great community opportunity to see magic, dancing, singing and so much more! There is so much learning that takes place performing in front of peers, parents, and community members. In a world where the fear of others opinions can restrict activity our students stepped forward and did an amazing job while having so much fun! Way to go Falcons!
- A huge THANK YOU to our local Lion's Club who donated $2000 to our school and all the local BFASA schools this week. We are so fortunate to work and live in a community that supports schools and local programming. We will be sure to share our donation allocation, but past donations from local organizations have gone toward our drone club, talent show, musical, band/music, and so much more!
- As you know late fall and winter bring on different illnesses and new germs! We have seen an increase in GI illness in the past week or so and wanted to share some updates for everyone as we move into cold/flu season. GI illness and wellness update HERE.
- Our concert and winter performance time is coming up. Traditionally, our PTSO sells poinsettias each year as a fundraiser while also decorating our stage during the concert. Our winter concert will be December 12th and poinsettias will be displayed on the stage during the performance. Forms went home with all students this week and a picture of the handout is below.
- Reminder--This coming week is our Thanksgiving Break. We will have school on Monday and Tuesday as normal. Thanksgiving Break (no school for 4k-8th grade) will start on Wednesday, November 22nd and we will return to school on Monday, November 27th. Our daycare will be open on November 22nd (3k and younger) and closed Thanksgiving Day through the weekend, returning Monday with the rest of the school.
- BONUS--If you have some time this weekend check out the Big Foot musical, Grease, which has many Falcon alumni performing in vital roles! Performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
Have a great weekend and a shout out to one of our neighbors, LG Badger, for winning the Division 2 State Championship today in football in addition to a successful musical of Beauty and the Beast. There are Falcon alumni throughout our local schools and it's always exciting to root on our neighbors on the lake!
