teacher appreciation

Hello Falcons!!

Week 36 of the school year had our elementary students working on their final benchmark tests of the year. Benchmark testing is done at least three times/year and helps our students and staff track their growth over the year. We use the data to make plans for students to extend, intervene, and set goals for growth. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. We are so excited to offer another summer of academic learning and enrichment at Fontana School. This year there is no fee for summer school. Summer school will include an hour each of reading focus, math focus and enrichment.

Please fill out the registration form HERE if your child will be attending.

    Thank you!

  2. Attention all 4th-8th grade families: 🎵 Concert Reminder 🎵 Who: 4th–8th Grade Band and Choir Date: Thursday, May 15th Location: Fontana Elementary School Time: Concert begins at 6:30 PM Arrival Time for Students: Please arrive in the music wing by 6:00 PM

  3. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Don't miss out on our 4th annual Falcons Walk for Wellness at Duck Pond on Friday, May 23rd. Registration/Sign-In begins at 12p and race starts at 12:30p. This is a walk/run/have fun event with many wellness vendors on site and opportunities to continue our fundraising for Bigger Than The Trail and Hope Squad to support mental and physical wellness. Register and/or Donate HERE

  4. Thank you to all of our wonderful staff and educators on this Teacher/Nurse appreciation week. We honor all of our staff who teach, mentor, and support our entire school community on a daily basis. GRATEFUL and thankful for the countless hours in and out of the classroom!!

  5. This Wednesday, May 14th, is the last "Let's Talk" with district administrator Steve Torrez. From 8:30a to 9:30a at the Coffee Mill you can stop in to chat about our school and bring any ideas or questions you may have about Fontana School. Our GOAL--transparency and community connection to enhance our school, create unique learning opportunities, and provide an open format for school/community communication. See you there!

PTSO Spotlight--We had our last meeting of the school year this past Wednesday. We reviewed the incredible fundraising, student/teacher support, and partnership with our parents and the school. The PTSO has many long standing chair members that will be "graduating" and we are always excited to welcome new members to the group. Please reach out to Margaret Labus (margaret@starboard-group.com)for interest, to answer questions, or to provide feedback to our amazing parent group.

Have a great weekend Falcons and see you all Monday!!
