first week

Hello Falcons!

Week one of the 25/26 school year is officially in the books! Thank you to our amazing Falcon staff for taking the extra time to be prepared, focused, and student centered right from the start! Our attendance and student pick up/drop off was great for a first week! Thank you parents. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. We are excited to have our cross country season underway! The team already had their first meet in Harvard this past week and competed very well! Keep it up Falcons and thank you to coach Blackman for coordinating a great season.

  2. The first flag football practice will be September 9th. Flag football is available to all 6-8th grade boys interested. Reach out the Mr. Hoey, if you haven't already, to get signed up.

  3. Starting on 9/9 our students will begin their fall benchmark testing. Benchmark testing is done three times per year (fall, winter, spring) to monitor growth, adjust instruction, and ensure ALL students are learning. Fontana uses IReady and Aimsweb Plus for our benchmark tests.

  4. Our first parent Wellness Wednesday will be September 10th at 4pm. Mrs. McGuire (formerly Ms. C) will be conducting this back to school parent discussion. Please reach out to Mrs. McGuire to connect in regards to our Wellness Wednesday sessions.

  5. Mark your calendars, our wonderful PTSO is back to their supportive ways this school year. The first event of the year will be our Loved Ones Lunch (LOL) on September 19th. More to come, but you can bet there will be pizza for hot lunch that day!! LOL is for students to invite a loved one to have lunch with them and enjoy some quality time!

Have a great first weekend of the school year Falcons! I ask--Where did the elephant store his suitcase????? IN HIS TRUNK OF COURSE!
