Hello Falcons!!
Week 4 of the 25/26 school year offered some great field trips and extended learning outside the traditional classroom. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
We already have a wonderful nomination for our Wings of Distinction Alumni! Do you know someone that attended Fontana and went on to EXCELLENCE to SELF, OTHERS, and/or COMMUNITY? Nominate distinguished alumni HERE. We will have our honorary luncheon and assembly to recognize our first inductees on March 12, 2026.
The Wings of Distinction nomination form also offers opportunity to nominate students, parents, staff, and community members for EXCELLENCE in our community, self, and others. Nominate your friend, neighbor, teacher, or student HERE. We want to celebrate all of the EXCELLENCE around us each day!
Our first community/parent nominees are Kelli, Stacy, Rita, Jeannie, Micky, Danielle, Laura, Melinda. The nomination states: "These ladies have stepped up to fill PTSO spots and ensure that all of our family involvement opportunities will continue for years to come. Thank you for being a leader in our school and very important connectors between the classroom and home." Thank you for the nomination and thank you to our wonderful PTSO for supporting our school!
PLEASE NOTE: The Big Foot homecoming parade is Friday, October 10th. Fontana School will have early dismissal on October 10th (11:45am) for all 4k-8th grade students. Our daycare (3k and younger) will be open as usual 7am to 5pm. All band students will stay at school to eat lunch as a group and then march in the parade together.
Thank you to our PTSO for supporting our annual field trip to Spring Green outdoor theatre. Our 6th graders saw Shakespeare's Midsummers Night's Dream.
BONUS--Congratulations to our flag football team and cross country team on another successful week of competition. Don't forget, volleyball practice starts Monday, September 29th after school.
Have a great weekend Falcons and see you Monday!
