Hello Falcons!!
Week 12 of the 25/26 school year included our annual Veteran's Day Assembly. Each year our 5th grade students prepare a slide show presentation and our choir sings Patriotic songs in honor of all those that have served our Country. Additionally, we invite our Veterans for a delicious lunch and time to connect with our school community. We THANK all of our Veterans for their service to our Country. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
Keep the nominations coming Fontana! Remember our WINGS OF DISTINCTION recognition is for current students, staff, and family in addition to recognizing DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI who have gone on to do great things after completing school at Fontana. We will have our first ever WINGS OF DISTINCTION assembly honoring our distinguished alumni in March 2026. NOMINATE current and distinguished alumni EXCELLENCE HERE
We had a great start to our PODCASTING AND STORYTELLING afterschool program this past Wednesday!! World renowned storyteller, Jim May, guided our group through different stories, how to create engaging stories, and learned about what makes up a story to tell. Our next group is this Wednesday, November 19th, from 3:30-5pm in the library. We plan to have an additional special guest to talk more about the technology side of PODCASTING and editing. It's not too late to join and we invite all students 5-8th grade along with any high school and adult community members ready to create their own podcast or write their own story/book. Email Steve Torrez to RSVP or to find out more information ([email protected]).
Winter is fast approaching. Please know that unless it's raining or below zero we will have our students playing outside. It's important to dress appropriately. Please email Mrs. McGuire, our school social worker, if you are in need of any winter weather clothing ([email protected]). More information LINKED HERE for appropriate winter weather gear.
Our FLL robotics club has been planning, engineering, and creating their robots the past few months. The time has come and our robotics teams will be competing this week to showcase their creations. Good Luck FLL Robotics Team and thank you to Mrs. Gutierrez, Mrs. Rabe, Mrs. Hachmeister and many others that have supported our students this fall in FLL!
Looking ahead--We will have our 4k-3rd grade Winter Music Concert on December 11th at Big Foot High School, starting at 5:45p. We will be separating our elementary music winter concert and our 4-8th grade band concert this year to help showcase the work of each group. Our 4th-8th grade Band/Choir concert will take place on January 16th at Big Foot High School.
BONUS--We are excited to bring back our traditional "Sing-A-Long" on December 19th in the gym. We invite our parents/families to join our students and staff to sing songs, have snacks, and enjoy spending time together before the winter break. We are super excited to bring back this long standing Fontana tradition this year!! Please email Mrs. Ziganto if you intend to join us to sing, cheer, and snack on December 19th ([email protected]).
Have a great weekend Falcons and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!!
