Hello Falcons!!

Week 14 was short, but packed with learning and fun! It was our Thanksgiving break and provided additional time to connect with family, friends, and self! This Friday (send much later than Friday) update will be an official welcome to December, our final month of 2025. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. This week, from December 1st through the 5th our National Junior Honor Society and Student Council will be coordinating our annual "Hunt off Hunger" food drive in coordination with the local DNR. Please fill our entry way with non-perishable food items to support the Walworth Food Pantry this holiday season.

  2. Don't miss our third STORYTELLING AND PODCASTING afterschool program this Tuesday, December 2nd in the school library. Students, 5th grade and older, are working with award winning storyteller, Jim May, on developing "catchy" stories along with capturing an audiences attention. It's not too late to join. Please email Steve Torrez at [email protected]. Adult, parents, and community members 5th grade and older are welcome.

  3. With the snow and winter upon us please remember to have your Falcon properly dressed for the cold and snow. We go outside as long as the "feels like" temperature is above zero degrees. For more information CLICK HERE for winter weather expectations.

  4. We can't wait for our annual Sing-a-Long this December 19th. We are inviting our parents and community to come sing-a-long with our students and staff at 9:15a on 12/19 in our school gym. This annual tradition helps send our school to winter break and the new year!

  5. Our winter concert will be split up this year with our 4k-3rd grade concert kicking things off on December 11th. Students arrive at 5:45p and the concert will begin at 6pm at the Big Foot High School Auditorium. Our 4th-8th grade band/choir concert will take place on January 15th at Big Foot Auditorium.

  6. BONUS--We are looking for nominations for our WINGS OF DISTINCTION awards celebrating/honoring EXCELLENCE TO SELF, COMMUNITY, AND/OR OTHERS. You can nominate current or past students, parents, alumni or community members showing EXCELLENCE in Fontana by clicking the LINK HERE. Also, if you, or someone you know, attended Fontana Grade School in the 1940's or 1930's we want to talk to you, learn from you, and celebrate you!! Contact Steve Torrez at [email protected] to begin our conversations!

  7. PTSO Spotlight--Don't miss all the great events and opportunities our PTSO is offering this month. More information regarding December activities below.
