Hello Falcons!!
We found some break in the bitter cold this week and spent a few consecutive days above zero degrees!! This makes for more fun adventures outside for our students, but also creates a "messy" time outside with melting snow and water. Please be sure to continue to send your Falcon with appropriate outside gear for all weather. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
Our 4th grade was chosen by the National Center for Education Statistics to participate in the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) test. The 4th grade will be taking this test in the coming week. This produces data for the National Report Card that is an aggregate of educational data from across the United States. To learn more about the NAEP test CLICK HERE.
Staff appreciation week is upon us. We are so grateful for our staff at Fontana and we want to hear from you as well. We have a large heart in our hallway that we intend to fill with positive messages from our staff and families. CLICK HERE to share your message
Thank you to the Big Foot Fine Arts for inviting our students to the "Fourth Wall" performance today. They enjoyed a great show with the other Big Foot Area Schools and this was able to happen because of the generosity of the BF Community Fine Arts Foundation!!
On February 19th there will be an information meeting for all 6th grade families. This will go over all things Outdoor Education for your 6th grader, including the family involvement for that week.
In one month (March 12th) we will have our inaugural WINGS OF DISTINCTION assembly to celebrate current/former students, community members, and staff. The WINGS OF DISTICTION nomination and celebration is a way to showcase the amazing work being done at our school now, in the past, and moving into the future. Do you know someone who went to Fontana or worked at Fontana that made (is making) an impact in their community, profession, family, or in life overall? NOMINATE THAT PERSON HERE. More to come as we finalize our list of nominees and plans for our assembly on March 12th.
Reminder--Next Friday, February 20th, our school is closed for all 4k-8th graders.
Have a great weekend and see you all Monday!!
