hot chocolate Friday

Hello Falcons!!

We are getting close to spring and week 28 includes daylight savings time. Don't forget to "Spring ahead" this Saturday, March 8th. We can look forward to longer sunlight into the evenings starting this Sunday!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. With spring approaching we will be heading into our track season very soon. The first track practice is set for April 13th. We are excited to once again have Coach Blackman and Coach Dase leading our track teams this year. The schedule for the season can BE FOUND HERE.

  2. Fontana families are invited to join us at school on Thursday, March 12th from 5:30-7pm for a fabulous Falcon Showcase and Fine Arts Night! Visitors will be treated to an evening of music, art, and refreshments. We look forward to celebrating the talents of our amazing students with you! Parents - please have students arrive in the music wing 15 minutes prior to their performance times: 5:40-6:00pm (On stage) 3rd Grade Recorder, 5th Grade in Ukulele, & 5th Grade Choir, 6:00-6:30pm (In Library) Jazz Band, and 6:30-6:50 (On Stage) 4th Grade Drumming, 4th Grade Choir.

  3. It may seem early, but we have our summer school dates and wanted to share those!!  Our summer partnership with the Fontana Library and Big Foot Recreation will continue again on Tuesdays, starting June 9th, 2026 to include performances, math/reading challenges, and open gym time.  Additionally, we will have our two week Summer School program again for math/reading and enrichment from August 3rd through August 14th, 2026.

  4. You don't want to miss our Wings of Distinction assembly and lunch on Thursday March 12th (lunch 1-2p and assembly 2:15p-3:15p).  This is open to our community members, parents, alumni, retired/former teachers and students as we recognize FONTANA EXCELLENCE.  We have some distinguished alumni we will be recognizing along with other honorees!  Come for lunch and stay for an amazing assembly.  RSVP HERE

  5. We had a busy week of academic excellence both inside and outside the school walls.  We had students perform well at the Academic Bowl at Williams Bay HS, 8 students perform at the regional Great History Challenge and 2 qualify for nationals, and our choir performed well at Big Foot with other local schools to name a few!!  Way to go!!

  6. BONUS--Thank you to our PTSO for providing a wonderful dinner during our extended day for parent teacher conferences!  We are grateful for your ongoing support.

  7. BONUS 2--For those that ordered Kringles, pick up will be on March 11th starting at 2:30p.  Thank you to Mrs. Becker and PTSO for coordinating and leading this fundraiser.

  8. BONUS 3--Please note that we have seen an increase in Gastrointestinal Illnesses in the last week.  Please review the LETTER LINKED HERE for more information to be sure we are working together to slow the spread of any illnesses.

Have a great weekend Falcons and see you Monday!!
