Happy May Day and week 36 of the school year. The "regular" window for open enrollment has officially closed and our school board will be voting on all open enrollment application at our May school board meeting. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
The week of May 4th is Staff Appreciation Week!! We spend the week showing gratitude and thanking our wonderful staff for all of their contributions to our entire community. Huge thank you to our PTSO for sponsoring an amazing breakfast this Tuesday to honor our Falcon team. Thank you!
What an incredible week for our 6th graders at Outdoor Education Camp. They spent the entire week at Holiday Home Camp exploring, learning, and growing. Special thank you to our amazing OE team of Mrs. Rabe, Mrs. Sammons, and Mr. Hoey who not only planned all year for this 66th edition of camp, but take a full week away from their own families to ensure this treasured tradition continues year after year! Thank you.
Our 8th graders have been busy. After spending three days in Washington DC last week they returned and this week only to hop on the Metra to Chicago and explore the city, museums and Millennium Park! Learning outside the four walls of our school always adds value and excitement.
Our 4k-1st graders had a great field trip this last week as well exploring the Discovery World Museum. Thank you to our staff and all of the parent chaperones for providing a fun and safe experience.
Thank you to Mr. McCanna who took 4 middle school students to the Art Immersion experience at UW Whitewater on Friday. So fun to meet like minded students from around the area and expand art opportunities.
BONUS--Thank you to Coach Blackman and Coach Dase for supporting our track team this spring. We had another successful track meet this past week at Big Foot. 9 personal records broken (Andrew going from an 8:01 in the 1600m to a 7:20!), 1 school record broken (Denton added a ton of distance on his long jump to beat his brother Hoyt's previous record with a 16'1" long jump, which is really impressive).
