Hello Falcons!!
We have finished our second full week in August and we are now a little more than two weeks away from school starting. Enjoy your remaining summer and know we are preparing for an amazing 26/27 school year!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
This week was the the finale of our summer school and our summer coaching program!! We had our 9 week summer coaching sessions along with our two week summer school this year and we had nearly 100 Falcons participate overall!! Thank you to the families, students, and staff for an amazing summer of exploring, learning, and growing!
Due to an increase in enrollment and a retirement, we have added new teachers to our team in 4K and 1st grade. Mrs. Emily Breen and Mrs. Taylor Jewell will be our new 1st grade teacher team following Mrs. Graham’s retirement at the end of the school year. Ms. Sydney Lueck will also join our 4K team alongside Ms. Santos, who has worked at Fontana for the past 6 years, including the last two years in 4K. Mrs. Lisa Falcon will also join our elementary team as a paraprofessional.
We have made some educational adjustments this year, primarily to increase our teacher/student time for direct instruction. This resulted in the decision to focus our Spanish class in middle school (6-8th grade) for the upcoming school year. All other "specials" classes will remain the same while adding an increase in direct instruction during the school day in small group and individualized instruction.
DATES TO KNOW: Tuesday, August 25th is our 4k/5k open house from 3-5:30p. Our teachers have reached out to families to set up individual meetings so please call the office if you have not heard from your 4k/5k teacher. Thursday, August 27th is our 1st-8th grade open house from 5-6:30p. Meet your teacher, drop off supplies, explore the school and explore! Tuesday, September 1st is our first day of school. Doors open at 8a daily and school starts at 8:15a. Dismissal is 3:30p. See you soon!
Six years ago this week our daycare officially opened for new students!! What started as a proposal and idea has turned into a "Best of Walworth County" Daycare. This is due to the incredible work by our staff (many of which still work at Fontana after six years) and our amazing families!! Thank you and we look forward to many more years of serving our youngest Falcons!!
