Each of our three F.I.R.S.T LEGO League teams had a strong showing at our Regional competition at Whitewater High School on Saturday! Our Aerial Archaeologists and the Earth Rumblers from Fontana were tied for 8th place out of 21 teams at the end of the robot rounds. Also, we had a team nominated for the peer award for excellent sportsmanship towards other teams! Congratulations, Falcons, on a job well done and for representing Fontana School well. We are proud of your sportsmanship, growth, hard work, and commitment to your teammates. Today is the first day of our first ever PODCASTING AND STORYTELLING after school program. Anyone 5th grade to 100 years old is welcome to join our group. All participants will learn how to tell a good story and elements of good storytelling while being provided all the relevant technology needed to start your very own podcast!! Hello Falcon families, We are excited to share our professional learning this Friday with our partners at Motion of Gratitude. Below is information about what to expect. This is our first time offering professional learning with our entire community and we hope to see you there. Please email Steve Torrez at [email protected] to RSVP or with any questions. We will have our PD with Matthew and Shannon from Motion of Gratitude from 1-3:30p. We will be in the gym to start with our large group activity and then move to breakout sessions from 2-3:30p.
1-1:45p will be focused on "Care for Caregivers" and strategies and ways to maximize self-care, to power of caring for yourself, and impact self-care can have on caring for others. We tend to give to others before filling our own cup and this will help us refocus on self-care as a primary starting point and strategies to do that.
2-3:30p will focus on two break out sessions. One breakout will focus on conscious leadership skills such as effective self-care skills, communication, and a commitment to continuous learning. Second breakout option will be focused on nervous system regulation and breathwork to improve mindset and wellness.

We finished a non-fiction reading in Language Arts class about a NASA Astronaut that got his engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
