A school is most successful when the entire community works together in the best interest of kids/families. Fontana just completed is 66th year of outdoor education that is carried forward by such stakeholders as our school board, committed staff, parents, and community partners to name a few. The Lake Geneva Garden Club, Environmental Education Foundation, Fontana Garden Club and the Lions Club are just a few of those amazing community organizations that ensure our lakes area is taken care of year after year. We have worked very hard the last four years, as a district, to ensure we have been good stewards of our community trust with our last four year referendum. This April 7th Fontana will have another 4 year, non-recurring operational referendum, to help maintain our small class sizes, retain/recruit quality staff, utilities and building maintenance/updates, diverse school offerings, and individualized instruction.
It is officially spring and we are SO excited for our 5th Annual Walk for Wellness -- COLOR RUN!! Register now (link below) to join in on this 5K COLOR walk/run that brings our community together to promote the importance of both mental and physical health. All funds raised from the event will go directly back to supporting our school’s mental health and wellness initiatives, including suicide prevention programs like Hope Squad. Your participation helps us continue building a supportive, healthy environment for our students.
Come walk, run, get COLORFUL and make a difference with us!
Last year, we hit our goal of $2,235.00! This year, we're upping our goal to $3,000.00!
BONUS-- everyone who registers will be entered into drawings for fun prizes!

One of the best days of the year.....A full scale search of the feisty Fontana Leprechaun. We seek to capture this elusive trouble maker every year, and once again, he escaped all of the elaborate traps set up to catch him!! If you see a small Leprechaun, dressed in green, please do what you can to return him to Fontana so he can be held accountable for all of his wrongdoings!! Be safe out there Falcons!! The creativity of our Leprechaun hunters is amazing!! #unitedweSOAR #flyintoexcellence

We have worked hard the last four years to hold true to our promise to be fiscally responsible, maintain small class sizes, build continuous improvement within our school, and retain high quality staff. Additionally, in the last four years our tax rate has declined. These promises, along with a continued lower trend in the mill rate/tax rate, are the focus of our new four year, non-recurring/operational referendum, on the April 7, 2026 ballot. The facts are listed here, on our website, and available for further discussion with our district administrator or business manager at any time. We are grateful for our amazing community support and look forward to showcasing that ongoing partnership. #unitedweSOAR #flyintoexcellence

Did you know: Fontana Joint 8 School District is in the final year of a four year, non-recurring referendum. We not only followed through on our promise to have lower tax rates over the last four years, we also significantly improved our educational opportunities, raising our school report card from 67.1 in 2022 to 81.8 in 2025.
There will be a new four year, non-recurring operational referendum, on the April 7th ballot to allow our school to continue offering small class sizes, attract/retain high quality staff, building operations/maintenance, and quality/individualized education.

A huge thank you to all the parents who took the time to visit our 3–5 classrooms for Career Month! The students loved hearing from you and are already feeling inspired as they begin thinking about what they might want to be when they grow up. :)
