During W.I.N. (What I Need) time students work with our staff on homework, areas of support, and areas of extension. WIN is built into every students schedule, every day to ensure every student gets What They Need. One extension project some middle school students worked on was starting their own podcast. Recording sessions began today in the front lobby. So fun to see their creative ideas and enthusiasm!! #flyintoexcellence #unitedweSOAR
So far this week we had our Winterfest winners ride the fire truck to school, celebrated Valentine's Day, had our first Outdoor Education parent meeting, and our 5K celebrated being 100 days smarter on the 100th day of school!! Additionally, our PTSO decided to move our staff appreciation to February to help bring joy and gratitude to our amazing staff, which has been met with treats, lunch, coffee and so much more! It's incredible what happens in just half a week at Fontana!! #unitedweSOAR #flyintoexcellence

Our early childhood center uses a research and evidence based curriculum (Creative Curriculum) that provides different studies of interest to our students while focusing on math, literacy, science, motor and social skills (also includes dress up!!). Our current study "Buildings" took our 3k students on a tour of the school to locate an elevator along with a "secret" door they found in the school. Learning is fun and engaging!
ALERT--Due to the impending Winter Storm Warning for Friday, January 12th, we will be taking the safest choice and closing our school and daycare. This decision is not taken lightly and made with consideration from the National Weather Service, local/statewide school district administration, and transportation services. This will be a traditional "snow day". Be safe and see you Monday!

Falcon students and staff participated in the annual Rotary Food Basket program. They worked with local schools, Rotarians, and community members to provide much needed food over the holiday break. Our college and career readiness programming is something we continue to expand at Fontana. This past week our 8th graders had the opportunity to tour Cobalt Farms right here in Fontana. Cobalt Farms is a part of Gordy's Marine and encompasses so many careers and opportunities right in our own community that our students were able to tour, ask questions about, and apply real world application to their learning! Thank you to Steele and all of the Gordy's staff for allowing us the opportunity to learn more about job skills and careers in our area!
