In years past we have actively participated in snow sculpting in Lake Geneva, however, we have the benefit of using our own snow molds to allow our students to snow sculpt right at school. Congratulations to our Math Meet team (5th-8th grade) on their amazing work last week in Whitewater. We competed against 9 other similar sized schools from Wisconsin and we had two overall first place finishers (Brace - 5th and Andrew - 8th grade). We will use all money raised to continue our quest to replace broken and old instruments along with adding new (like the awesome gong) equipment to our music department. 💛 Kindness Week is Coming! 💛 Next week we will be celebrating our annual Kindness Week, and our school will be filled with connection, positivity, and thoughtful actions. Students will receive Kindness Bingo cards on Monday, and anyone who completes a blackout (all kind acts) can receive a special prize from Mrs. McGuire. A kindness jar will be available in the main office by Mrs. Ziganto where families, staff, and students can leave shout-outs recognizing acts of kindness, which will be shared during daily announcements. Kindness will also be discussed and highlighted in classrooms building-wide throughout the week. To wrap up the celebration, the ice cream sundae cart will be visiting all classrooms (3K–8th grade) on Friday the 17th around 2:30 PM for a sweet treat celebrating kindness! 🍦💛 We can't wait!!!

Annually, the Geneva Lake West Rotary selects an educator from each school to honor their Service Above Self (SOS) throughout the year. This year, we will once again submit nominations for our Fontana Service Above Self Nominee and we want your feedback Fontana!

THANKFUL for our creative, collaborative, supportive, and connected team at Fontana! Our staff created a "Do you have a Gobble in your Wobble" game to usher in the Thanksgiving break. Each of our three F.I.R.S.T LEGO League teams had a strong showing at our Regional competition at Whitewater High School on Saturday! Our Aerial Archaeologists and the Earth Rumblers from Fontana were tied for 8th place out of 21 teams at the end of the robot rounds.
Also, we had a team nominated for the peer award for excellent sportsmanship towards other teams! Congratulations, Falcons, on a job well done and for representing Fontana School well. We are proud of your sportsmanship, growth, hard work, and commitment to your teammates. Thank you to Cardinal Engineering for sponsoring us, thank you to our staff and volunteers for taking time from your Saturday to support our students, and thank you to Whitewater High School for hosting the event!!
Principal Chloe did an amazing job supporting our school this past week. She monitored the hallways, checked on classrooms, made an executive decision to extend free time in 3rd grade, and attended an important Rotary Club meeting focused on new projects at George Williams College. Today is the first day of our first ever PODCASTING AND STORYTELLING after school program. Anyone 5th grade to 100 years old is welcome to join our group. All participants will learn how to tell a good story and elements of good storytelling while being provided all the relevant technology needed to start your very own podcast!! Work side by side with world renowned storyteller Jim May and make that "someday" happen now by starting your own podcast! See you tonight from 3:30-5pm in our media room at Fontana School! Veteran's Day is next Tuesday, November 11th. We are excited to host our annual Veteran's Day lunch and assembly, presented by our 5th graders, starting at 12:30p for lunch. The assembly will follow at 1:30p in our gym. All Veteran's are welcome to join us for food and our assembly to honor those that have served our Country.
