What's New with Fuel Up to Play 60 Our team has been hard at work thinking of different ways for our students to be active and healthy in and out of school. This week we are kicking off our Take Home Gym. Any family can sign out our take home gym for a night for a way to beat the winter blues and be active at home. The Take Home Gym has 15 pieces of our favorite PE equipment. Families can check out the Take Home Gym there is a sign-out sheet posted in the gym, on the bulletin board. Remember, you must return the Take Home Gym the following day so another family can enjoy all the fun. Our club members also hosted a dairy taste test before the holiday break. Our club members made three different types of "milksicles" which included strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla. The students loved their healthy treat. Our club is challenging you to come up with a dairy snack you can make at home with the kids. Think of a fun recipe to try with them and send it our way! We might even try it for our next taste test. Lastly, for the last two months, our school has been participating in the "MOOving through Wisconsin" contest. Our club has challenged the students and staff to reach 1,000 miles by Feb 1, 2019. Currently, the teachers are in the lead with 709 miles, followed by Mr. Scott (yes he did all of this alone!), with 658 miles, and in 3rd place 4th grade with 466 miles. There are still a few weeks left of this contest; the log sheets can are on the bulletin board in the gym. There are some great hiking trails around the area go out with your kids and explore the paths, don't forget to log those miles. The Take Home Gym also has two fitness trackers in it that you can use for the night! Thank you for supporting our Fuel Up to Play 60 program, and we hope you enjoy these opportunities!

Reminder: Please remember to pull as far down as possible when dropping students off. This will keep the line moving to minimize drop off time. If you stop before or close to the crosswalk the line behind you becomes long and fewer students can safely be dropped off.

Mr. Parker has informed the consortium schools that Big Foot High School will be closing early today due to a bomb threat. There is no reason to believe that this incident involves or otherwise effects Fontana School. Fontana School will remain open, and after school activities will be held as normal.

One faulty fire detector at school tonight has resulted in FFD and FPD being called several times to the school. There is no fire, and there has been no fire tonight. The error in the system will be addressed in the morning. After speaking with the Assistant Fire Chief, the Fire Chief, and Chief Cates, we have a plan for officers to increase the number of routine safety checks throughout the night. Please note: there is no threat to school or to the safety of our students, staff, or visitors.

10/29/18 Mr. Parker at Big Foot Union High School District sent out the following message earlier today, 10/29/18: BFHS received a message threatening the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We have been working closely with the Walworth Police Department in correlation to the threat. We DO NOT believe at this time it is credible in any way. However, to ensure everyone's safety, we will be closing BFHS at 12:30 pm today. Once again, we DO NOT believe it is credible in any way. The buses will be available at 12:20 to take home all bus riding students. Any students without a ride, may meet in the main gym and walk with administration to Grace Church south of BFHS (500 South Main Street) and get picked up from there. We ask that all staff and students be out of the building and parking lot by 12:30 pm. Anyone with information concerning the incident can message Walworth County Crime Stoppers P3 App or contact Big Foot High School at 262-275-2116 The Fontana Jt 8 School District is not closing early. All after school activities will be held as scheduled.
