This Friday is the deadline to bring in your nonperishable food items to help us retain our local school championship for the most food collected. The orange and black barrels are located in the front vestibule of the school. Lets work together to bring in the most food! Additionally, this Friday we will have our drone club from 3:30 to 4:30p. We will be mapping our plans for covering the lake ice patterns this winter. See you at drone club and don't forget your food drive donations!

Our college and career readiness programming is something we continue to expand at Fontana. This past week our 8th graders had the opportunity to tour Cobalt Farms right here in Fontana. Cobalt Farms is a part of Gordy's Marine and encompasses so many careers and opportunities right in our own community that our students were able to tour, ask questions about, and apply real world application to their learning! Thank you to Steele and all of the Gordy's staff for allowing us the opportunity to learn more about job skills and careers in our area!

Our Mission at Fontana is to ensure success for "Every Student, Every Day, Whatever it Takes". We have had so many examples of this already this school year including students helping out while our custodial staff is short handed, substitute teaching staff jumping in and adjusting mid-day to do what is best for kids, parents supporting our school in all facets, and staff stepping up to make sure all students receive the individualized support necessary. Thank you Fontana and we are moving in the right direction each day, Whatever it Takes!! #flyintoexcellence #unitedweSOAR

The past week has provided our students time with Big Foot High School student athletes about getting involved, Fontana Fire safety classes, and continued filming with Mr. McCanna's Fontana Famous Film Club!! Learning inside and outside the classroom, while connecting beyond our 8th grade walls, is connected to high school, beyond high school, and into careers.

The Fontana XC season wrapped up their third season last night participating in the Rock Valley Conference meet at UW-Whitewater. Both the boys and girls teams took 6th. We had one BFAMS runner for boys and girls place in the top 10 for conference. We have grown our race schedule from 1 meet three seasons ago to 7 meets this season. All kids showed great improvement over one season, and returning kids are seeing the results from competing in multiple seasons. We look forward to the 2024 season for Track & Field and XC and welcome all 6th-8th grade boys and girls to join us.

6th grade was fortunate to learn with the American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI today. A matinee viewing of "Our Town" kept each student engaged and interested. What a beautiful facility on a wonderful day to watch outdoor theatre. Thank you to our generous PTSO for helping to fund, chaperone, and setup this event. #unitedweSOAR #flyintoexcellence
