Due to the icy conditions of our parking lot, Fontana School will have a 2 hour delayed start on Thursday, Feb 7..

Hello, Fontana Families and Staff!
It looks like we are still under a winter weather advisory starting at 6 p.m.--you know, right in the middle of conferences! PT conferences will be held tonight as scheduled; however, anyone wishing to reschedule due to the predicted weather conditions can contact the teacher (sooner, rather than later) to reschedule. Teachers will also have the option to reschedule and will be in touch soon if they choose to do so.
Also, due to missing a full week of instruction because of inclement weather so far this year (with months of potential inclement weather ahead), we will hold a normal school day on Friday, February 22.
Thanks!

8th grade reminder: On Monday, Feb. 4th, 8th graders will be leaving school at approximately 8:35 a.m. to attend orientation at BFHS. Students must bring their blue folders with their elective choices. Students will return in time for lunch and then meet with a high school counselor at Fontana in the afternoon.

Hello, Fontana Staff and Families! There will be no school tomorrow, Thursday, January 31, due to the extreme cold predicted. The Board of Education meeting will still be held at the school library with a closed session at 4:30 and open at 5 p.m. Stay warm!

Due to the extreme cold predicted, all after school activities for today are cancelled, and school will be closed tomorrow, January 30. A decision regarding Thursday will be made by noon tomorrow; however, the rescheduled board of education meeting will be held on Thursday, regardless of whether school is held, with a closed session at 4:30 and open at 5 p.m. Please stay safe and warm as we move into dangerously cold temps!

Due to the approaching winter storm, the Fontana J8 School District will be closed on Monday, January 28. All BFASA schools will be closed as well, and the regular meeting of the Board of Education will be rescheduled.

Due to inclement weather predicted overnight, there will be no school for the Fontana Jt 8 School District on January 23, 2019. All BFASA schools will be closed as well.

Due to predicted inclement weather: no afternoon preschool (3K) or after school activities Jan 22, 2019. Cancelled activities include: basketball, afternoon preschool, FUTP60, and after-care.

What's New with Fuel Up to Play 60
Our team has been hard at work thinking of different ways for our students to be active and healthy in and out of school. This week we are kicking off our Take Home Gym. Any family can sign out our take home gym for a night for a way to beat the winter blues and be active at home. The Take Home Gym has 15 pieces of our favorite PE equipment. Families can check out the Take Home Gym there is a sign-out sheet posted in the gym, on the bulletin board. Remember, you must return the Take Home Gym the following day so another family can enjoy all the fun.
Our club members also hosted a dairy taste test before the holiday break. Our club members made three different types of "milksicles" which included strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla. The students loved their healthy treat. Our club is challenging you to come up with a dairy snack you can make at home with the kids. Think of a fun recipe to try with them and send it our way! We might even try it for our next taste test.
Lastly, for the last two months, our school has been participating in the "MOOving through Wisconsin" contest. Our club has challenged the students and staff to reach 1,000 miles by Feb 1, 2019. Currently, the teachers are in the lead with 709 miles, followed by Mr. Scott (yes he did all of this alone!), with 658 miles, and in 3rd place 4th grade with 466 miles. There are still a few weeks left of this contest; the log sheets can are on the bulletin board in the gym. There are some great hiking trails around the area go out with your kids and explore the paths, don't forget to log those miles. The Take Home Gym also has two fitness trackers in it that you can use for the night!
Thank you for supporting our Fuel Up to Play 60 program, and we hope you enjoy these opportunities!

Reminder: All roller-skating permission slips are due Friday, December 21, 2018.
